All China-bound passengers, including fast lane travelers, from Singapore are now required to obtain electronic green health codes for boarding, announced the Chinese Embassy in Singapore on Thursday.

"In order to realize the full electronization of certificates of the nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests, the current facilitation of direct flight boarding with standardized test certificate will be canceled. Thus, from December 1, flight passengers from Singapore to China will not be allowed to board the planes directly with the standardized negative test certificates," the Embassy said in a statement.

Chinese passengers (including those from Hong Kong and Macao SARs and the Taiwan region) must apply for the green health codes with the "HS" mark via WeChat Health Code app, the statement noted.

Foreign passengers are required to upload their negative certificates of nucleic acid and IgM antibody tests together with valid biodata page of passport. After the Chinese Embassy in Singapore examined and approved the application, the passenger will receive the green health declaration code marked with "HDC."

The Embassy encouraged travelers to choose direct flights to China to reduce the risk of transit infection.
